Ngalangangpum school camp to Darwin

Donation protected
Ngalangangpum school is in a remote Indigenous community in Warmun, Western Australia. I am writing on behalf of my year 5/6 students, who are incredibly hard working and are very deserving of a camp.

Our school is looking to take 15 students to Darwin and we feel that it is an event that our kids don’t often have the opportunity to experience. The aim of the camp is to increase attendance and reward excellent behaviour. Students will and have been involved in the planning process, with many mathematic and literacy lessons produced from the experience.

As many of the students will be attending high school next year, we believe this is a chance to check out boarding schools and feel this is an excellent opportunity to experience a city lifestyle, to make the transition successful when the time comes.

Other objectives of the camp are to provide students exposure to city life, to increase road awareness, visit museums, learn the history of WW2, order meals from restaurants, further develop social skills and teamwork.

Our school is very excited and eager to see the camp be a success and believe our students are very deserving. Funds will go towards accommodation, travel (fuel and bus hire), food and activities for all attending. As families will not be able to cover the whole cost themselves. Thank you for your support.
