Hola, mi nombre es Genesis Roas de Venezuela y hoy pido tu ayuda para mi hermana Venus Estefanía Roas, una joven de 18 años de edad, nacida en Barquisimeto – Venezuela, donde actualmente vive con mi familia. Desde muy pequeña se dedicó al deporte convirtiéndose en una joven fuerte, llegando a ganar varias competencias locales de crossfit. Venus se destacó también por ser buena estudiante y siempre ha querido ser Odontóloga cuyo sueño iba a empezar a cumplir en Abril del presente año al iniciar su carrera universitaria.

Lamentablemente, el pasado 18 de Febrero Venus comenzó a mostrar síntomas de fiebre y malestar general, situación que fue empeorando con el pasar de los días sin encontrarse una causa específica que pudiera determinarse a través de los exámenes complementarios, razón por la cual deciden ingresarla al Hospital General “Dr. Luis Gómez López” el día 28 de Febrero, donde es evaluada y hospitalizada por 3 días bajo el contexto de una Salmonelosis, asociándose dificultad respiratoria complicada con Derrame Pleural derecho que posteriormente evoluciona en una Sepsis grave y en vista de sus condiciones clínicas es referida y trasladada a la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Hospital General “Dr. Pastor Oropeza Riera” donde ingresa en malas condiciones generales con falla multi-orgánica.

Durante su estancia en UCI, le realizan cultivos de secreción bronquial y hemocultivo donde se reporta el crecimiento de la bacteria Staphyloccocus Aureus por lo que le indican múltiples terapias antimicrobianas donde obtuvo mejoría clínica y luego de 21 días de tratamiento deciden darla de alta. A este punto parecía que todo lo malo había terminado y Venus estaba muy feliz de poder continuar.
Sin embargo, estando en casa, la dificultad para respirar persistía por lo que fue evaluada por el neumonólogo tratante en varias oportunidades quien decide solicitar Ecocardiograma Transtorácico donde se observan lesiones vegetantes en Válvula Tricúspide, por lo cual Venus es hospitalizada nuevamente en el Hospital General “Dr. Luis Gómez López” el día 06 de Abril, en vista del cuadro clínico asociado al hallazgo ecocardiográfico bajo el diagnóstico de Endocarditis Infecciosa definitiva de Válvula Tricúspide por cultivo de Staphyloccocus Aureus, allí permaneció durante 10 días donde recibió tratamiento de antibióticos para combatir el crecimiento bacteriano.

Actualmente, Venus se encuentra hospitalizada presentando cuadro de Insuficiencia Tricuspidea Severa secundaria a Endocarditis Infecciosa, hecho por el cual amerita Reemplazo de la Válvula Tricúspide con Colocación de Prótesis Mitral Mecánica, operación que debe realizarse lo antes posible debido a que esta insuficiencia provoca el mal funcionamiento de sus órganos lo que podría ocasionar daños mayores. Venezuela esta atravesando una crisis económica monumental donde lamentablemente el sueldo (2$ mensuales) no es suficiente para costear la cesta basica, cabe destacar que no se encuentran insumos medicos dentro del pais y todo tiene que ser importado desde otros paises, en estos momentos nuestra familia no cuenta con los recursos necesarios para costear dicha operación.

Es por ello que decidimos iniciar esta campaña para que todas esas personas que deseen colaborar puedan hacerlo. Ninguna ayuda es poca cuando se hace de corazón.

El dinero recolectado en esta campaña sera usado para cubrir los costos del equipo médico el cual incluye:

Oxigenados: 650 USD
Bandeja: 360 USD
Hemofiltro: 180 USD
Pleurovac: 70 USD
(2) Ethibond excel 2.0 Sh: 90 USD cada una (Kit) ó
(3) Ethibond excel 2.0 RB1: 60 USD cada una (Kit)
(1) Hilo de marcapaso 10 USD cada uno
(2) Cera de hueso 20 USD.

Para un total de 3490 USD en equipos. El resto del dinero se usará para cubrir los gastos de la cirugía y para los cuidados post-operatorios los cuales debido a la inflación actual que existe en Venezuela no tiene un costo específico pero sobrepasan los 2500 USD.

Hello, my Name is Genesis Roas from Venezuela and today i am asking you for help to my sister Venus Estefanía Roas, an 18 year old girl, born in Barquisimeto - Venezuela, where she currently lives with her family. From a very young age, she dedicated herself to sports becoming a strong young woman, winning several local crossfit competitions. Venus also stood out for being a good student and has always wanted to be a dentist whose dream was to begin in April of this year when she started her university career.

Unfortunately, on February 18th Venus began to show symptoms of fever and general malaise, a situation that got worse with the passing of days without finding a specific cause that could be determined through the complementary exams, which is why they decided to take her to the General Hospital "Dr. Luis Gómez López" on February 28th, where she is evaluated and hospitalized for 3 days under the context of a Salmonellosis, being associated with complicated respiratory distress with right Pleural Effusion that later evolves into a Severe Sepsis and considering her clinical conditions she is referred to and transferred to the Intensive Care Unit of the General Hospital "Dr. Pastor Oropeza Riera" where she steps in with bad general conditions and multi-organic failure.

During her stay in the ICU, she was given cultures of bronchial secretion and blood culture, where the growth of the Staphylococcus Aureus bacteria was reported, giving her treatment with multiple antimicrobial therapies where she obtained clinical improvement and after 21 days she was discharged from the hospital. At this point it seemed that everything bad was over and Venus was very happy to continue.

However, being at home, her difficulty to breathe persisted so she was evaluated by the treating pneumonologist on several occasions who decides to request a Transthoracic echocardiogram where vegetative lesions are observed in Tricuspid Valve for which Venus is hospitalized again in the General Hospital "Dr. Luis Gómez López" on April 6th, in view of the clinical picture associated with the echocardiographic finding under the diagnosis of definitive Infective Endocarditis Tricuspid Valve by culture of Staphylococcus Aureus, there she stayed for 10 days where she received antibiotic treatment to fight bacterial growth .

Currently, Venus is hospitalized with Severe Tricuspid Insufficiency secondary to Infectious Endocarditis, which requires replacement of the Tricuspid Valve with Mechanical Mitral Prosthesis, which must be performed as soon as possible because this insufficiency causes malfunction of her organs and could cause major damage. Unfortunately , at this time Venezuela is going through the worst economic crysis in its history. Due to massive inflation the average wage is around $2 dollars per month. It is impossible to afford a hospital bill and there is a massive shortage of medical supplies in the country, so everything has to be imported which raises the costs even further. For these reasons, our family does not have the necessary resources to pay for my sister's surgery.

That is why we decided to start this campaign so all those people who wish to collaborate can do so. No help is small when it is done from the heart.

The money collected in this campaign will be used to cover the costs of the medical equipment which includes:
