Richard,  our father is in serious need of a heart transplant, but in the mean time he will  be  reciving a left ventricle assistant device (LVAD). He has been hospitalized at the Spectrum Butterworth  hospital in Grand Rapids, MI for over a month and will continue to be there for around another month. After surgery is complete he will be placed on the donor list for a heart. Once home with the LVAD he will need around the clock care for three months here in Petoskey, and have to go back and fourth from Petoskey to Grand Rapids once a week for the first month and then once a month for two more months after that. During all of this craziness our Mother, Pat, has had to miss work in order to be by his side and has driven from Petoskey to Grand Rapids several times in order to check on things back at their home. Fortunately Richard's insurance will cover most of the medical procedures, but unfortunately many bills have piled up and gone unpaid do to the loss of work for both Pat and Richard. At this time we are unsure of an exact amount Pat and Richard will need to live and pay their bills, but we are hoping to raise around $50,000 and hopefully that will be enough.
