Assalamualaikum Everyone! Ramadan Mubarak to you all! Whether you're able to fast or not may Allah accept all of your good work and prayers during this holy month. May we come out of this month as better souls who practice kindness and compassion. In Sha Allah!
As many of you may be aware, I try to do a fundraiser annually during the month of Ramadan to raise money for impoverished people/families living in the slums of Bangladesh. Bangladesh is a 3rd world nation suffering from intense poverty. It has the world’s 8th largest population. Shockingly, it is only about the size of the United State of Iowa. Over 20 percent of the population lives in poverty. Many children suffer from malnutrition which causes stunting and wasting. Living in slums they do not have access to adequate housing, education, clothing, and food. Many children end up having to work or beg on the streets just to help provide for their families. The people of Bangladesh not only suffer due to poverty, but also from political instability, natural disasters, waterborne diseases from contaminated waters and more. Natural disasters leave many parts of the country devastated and thousands of people homeless and displaced.
It is the month of Ramadan and the month to be charitable, to be a little kinder to those in need, to be humbler and to be more aware of our environment. This is the month to reflect and understand that there is more to this vast world than just ourselves as individuals. We must be there for one another in times of need whether it be during the holy month of Ramadan or any other time of the year.
The money raised will go towards purchasing essential items such as but not limited to staple foods (such rice and lentils), soap and medication. Given the current circumstances we are facing globally, this year our focus will solely be on providing essential and necessary items to families and people in need. There are many people living on the streets who don’t know where their next meal will come from. The goal of the fundraiser is to provide aid to those most vulnerable.
Please, consider donating to this great cause and helping me put a smile on the faces of those who may not have a lot to smile about. Please, share the link if you can. May Allah accept your charity in this holy month and reward you in abundance. Ameen!
Thank you kindly. Your generosity is very much appreciated.
You can donate directly through the GoFundMe link or you can also donate via Zelle, ApplePay, Venmo and CashApp or whatever payment system works best for you.
