Andy's NYU Theater Experience

Donation protected

My name is Andy Miller, and I am a junior at Irving High School.  Theater has been a passion of mine since I was very young, and I am most passionate about musical theater.  I am active in my school’s theater department and currently serve as the Drama Club President.  I applied and have been accepted to the summer musical theater training program for high school students at the renowned Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.  The program lasts four weeks, and participants will earn six college credits, taking classes in Acting, Vocal Music and Performance, Speech, and Dance.  All of these courses will be taught with an emphasis on musical theater as a collaborative ensemble art form requiring proficiency in music, dance, and acting first and foremost.  The selection process was very competitive as they were looking for students who displayed the ability to be self-disciplined, motivated and energetic, able to contribute to the growth of fellow students, work well in an ensemble environment, and have the maturity and readiness for this program.  I am so thankful that I got accepted!

This program is a once-in-a-lifetime educational opportunity for me to participate in the prominent theater program at New York University.  I have decided to commit myself to earning and raising funds to pay the tuition, fees, and expenses for this experience, and this page is one part of that endeavor.   Please read further to learn more about me, then consider contributing to the tuition and expenses for this program by clicking on the Donate Now button on this page.

In case you are wanting to find out more about the program I’ve been accepted to, here is a link to the specific website:    NYU Tisch School of the Arts Summer Program for High School Students .  I applied for the Drama portion , and specifically the New Studio Musical Theater section.

Tuition for this type of training is expensive.  This link outlines the specific amounts I will need to pay .  I will be working in a number of other ways to earn money for travel and expenses for this program, but I am also asking for your support.  Please contribute through this GoFundMe account by clicking on the Donate Now button on this page.

If you have questions or want further information or would like to get together and talk about this, please let me know.  I will be happy to sit down and discuss it with you.  In addition, I solicit your prayers on my behalf for this adventure.  I do not know what God has in store for me and why He has opened this specific door, but I plan to carry it out to the best of my ability in order to serve Him and to serve others.
