My Brother Dave:

We all know life can spin on a dime but we never think it happens to us. In this case it happened to my brother, Dave. Here is his story from his big sister's point of view:
Dave was born in the Chicago area and grew up loving all Chicago sports; Cubs, Black Hawks, Bears, Bulls, and White Sox. Dave was always very smart, an independent mind in both thought and deed. He enlisted in the Army to both serve and to fund his college education. While married and fathering two children, he earned his Chemical Engineering degree. Subsequently, having a total of four children. He worked for big name companies and led some very important projects cleaning toxic sites across the United States. He moved on in this path of making our environment safe for over 30 years.
His current career included environmental remediation projects throughout Puerto Rico, where life had taken a disastrous turn for Dave, his wife, three dogs, and a cat. He had contracted Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML).
Unfortunately, the treatment Dave required was not available in Puerto Rico and residency was established in Florida to get the specialized treatment he so needed, putting his earning income on temporary hold. While receiving chemotherapy, and awaiting a stem cell bone marrow transplant, he lost his battle against AML and now lives on in our hearts.
This planet benefited from Dave and all those who were lucky enough to know him and to have been loved by him. The devastation in our hearts for his loss will be felt for years to come. The financial devastation this illness has caused is a burden that can be lifted with your support. Medical bills, loss of income, and travel expenses will soon impact his widow and the life he has built. Please help with a monetary donation to the SAVE DAVE fund.
