Staff Mutual Aid Fund

On Thursday, June 18, the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust notified 32 people, over 40% of its staff, that their employment was being terminated and their positions eliminated. At the same time, numerous junior staff members were alerted that their hours and compensation would be cut by 20%. These staff members have worked tirelessly to fulfill the Museum's mission.
A team of employees remaining at the Museum has established a mutual aid fund to assist our colleagues who are now facing unemployment, heightened food insecurity, and the inability to pay rent. Funds raised will be distributed equally among staff affected by the job terminations and hour reductions. Our goal is to raise enough money to give each of these colleagues $2,000 to help them pay their bills as they transition to unemployment. We hope to raise this money for our colleagues within a month's time.
Your gift will help almost 40 people transitioning to an uncertain future know that there are people in the world who care and who will help. A contribution of any amount will make a big difference to many.
