Newtown Chamber Orchestra's Relaunch!

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to join the Newtown Chamber Orchestra as it relaunches its live performance programming amid our "new normal" after more than 18 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Critical to the culture of Bucks County, The Newtown Chamber Orchestra employs paid, professional musicians during a time where many orchestras are out of business, having succumbed to financial pressures from COVID-19. Although the pandemic has taken a major toll on our ability to produce concerts, NCO is grateful to survive due to donations from the community. In addition to its commitment to traditional classics, NCO promotes new chamber orchestra works by contemporary composers, features soloists, and encourages young musicians throughout the area with its youth programs.

Even now, with vaccinations and mask-wearing at an all-time high, relaunching is an enormous lift.  Between navigating the red tape of social distancing requirements, assuring the safety and health of our performers, and securing venues that are willing to host us, audiences have been rightfully tentative about returning to the concert hall.  With this in mind, we are only able to take our programming one concert at a time, and a strong Giving Tuesday donation base will allow us to plan further out into the future.

Therefore, we are thrilled to make our triumphant return to in-person programming this holiday season!  On Saturday, December 11th, NCO will launch its 32nd season with a performance at the newly renovated, historic Newtown Theatre to present a Christmas Classical Concert by Candlelight.  Click here for additional information and for tickets.
