Help me hear sounds I've never heard!

Hi everyone!
I have been deaf since birth (severe hearing loss in one ear, profound to complete hearing loss in the other). I am now 27 years old and leading what I would consider a normal life given my disability. However I cannot hear and interact with others without the assistance of hearing aids.
Although I do my best to live life normally despite my deafness, as I grow older my hearing loss is increasing, making it more and more difficult to interact in some situations and hear different sounds.
I have investigated the option of Cochlear implants; however I sit in an unusual area where on one hand I am considered an eligible recipient due to my complete loss of hearing in one ear, but my marginal hearing in the other is just sufficient that doctors consider it not worth the risk of the implant given my completely deaf ear may not learn to process sounds as I have never heard sound in that ear in my life.
So audiologists have recommended me new hearing aids that will give me the best possible chance of hearing what I can. The exciting thing is that new technology can allow me to wear a hearing aid in my completely deaf ear that transmits sound from that side to my other ear which can actually process the sounds. What this means...is that where previously I have never been able to hear anything coming from the right side of my head, I could now hear just as well as my left side! This is really exciting! As well as this, new technology will allow me to hear far better in general than what I currently can, whether it be subtle sounds, frequencies, conversations or just small things I wasn't even aware of...
However, hearing aids and these new technologies are not cheap. It is going to cost me $6090 to get these new devices. Hence I am appealing to the people of the World Wide Web to join together and help me out! Your donation can help bring amazing new sounds into my world and help make my life so much easier! Even if it's just the equivalent amount of a cup of coffee, it all adds up!
