Lola's Knee Surgery

Meet Lola (formally Tracy).  This young female poodle-terrier mix shot with a BB gun and abandoned on the side of the freeway in Tracy, Ca.  A kind resident of Cameron Park, Ca brought her home to be fostered and named her Tracy. Upon a visit to the vet, it was established that Tracy was carrying six puppies.

Linda, a neighbor to the foster mom, met Tracy in late October and watched her progress through her pregnancy; and was there to assist in the upbringing and weening of the puppies.

In the meantime, Tracy had “adopted” Linda. Tracy would continually follow Linda home after visits. They would take walks around the lake together, car rides and even a sleep-over.  Linda knew it was a match made in Heaven and they fell in love. Linda started to prepared for Tracy's new home with a custom bed, toys, water fountain, sweaters, raincoat, car seat and fence for the yard!

It was not until a week before Tracy's scheduled move-in date that it was discovered that Tracy had been diagnosed with Patellar Luxation (dislocated knee cap). After consulting two different vets, it was established that surgery was needed to correct this and to prevent pain and potential lameness. This procedure is “major” both in needing an orthopedic surgeon and in cost (approxiametly $2400).

Tracy is so very sweet and, of course, smart. Linda would really like to give this little mama the loving home she deserves and so desperately needs. After imagining a life together, Linda is heartbroken that she cannot afford the cost of the surgery and is concerned what would become of Tracy if she cannot have this surgery.

If you could please spare a few dollars, our family would really appreciate the help to make sure Tracy gets the surgery she needs so that she can stay in a loving home.
