Andrea is 45 years old and in nursing home due to stroke. She is paralyzed on her left side, and as a result of complications from the stroke, is now legally blind and deaf. Andrea needs more physical and occupational therapy, but her insurance only covered the initial therapies. Its the families hope that with more therapy Andrea will be able to come home and be able to take care of herself.
Andrea's mom Kay Kaufman Newhouse was helping with Andrea's care, but last year was diagnosed with lung cancer. The treatments have left Kay weak and unable to walk. Kay requires 24/7 care and only a small portion of that care is being covered by insurance. The rest of her care is being handled by her son John. John had to take a leave of absence from work in order to take care of Kay. This has left the family with very limited income and little hope getting Andrea and Kay the care they need.
The Newhouse family is asking for prayers and any financial assistance for care and rehabilitation during this difficult time.
