New York Film Academy in Los Angeles - Film Acting

Donation protected

I've been given the opportunity of a lifetime to pursue my dream but I need funds to get there.

A bit about the dream:
It has always been my dream to be a Hollywood actress and now I've been lucky enough to get into the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. It's an extraordinary school with guest speaker such as Steven Spielberg, Al Pacino, Seth Rogen and the list goes on and on. The alumni includes Lana Condor (Netflix teen comedy “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.” Prior to that, she played Jubilee in “X-Men: Apocalypse” and Li in “Patriots Day.”), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (Michael Bay’s 6 Underground on Netflix. He was also one of the “seven” actors in the Antoine Fuqua movie, The Magnificent Seven, which starred Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, and Vincent D’onofrio.), Andre Bachelor ( “King Bachelor’s Pad,” which had over 3 million followers on Vine. He also landed a recurring role on Showtime’s “House of Lies” and has a pilot in development at BET. He recently appeared in “When We First Met” and “The Babysitter.”) and so many more!!! This is such an incredible opportunity and I feel like it's the perfect step to take me where I want to go.

A bit about me:
I first decided I wanted to move to Hollywood and become an actress when I was 5. We didn't have much money so I started putting on small performances for family members and attending school drama clubs. When I was 13, I joined my local amateur dramatic theatre, The Blackmore Theatre, where I landed the role of Principle girl in that year's panto. I continued school clubs and got involved with as many productions as could with the theatre until I was 16 and started college studying in Performing arts. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it but unfortunately I was battling with my own demons outside of college. I was diagnosed with anorexia-nervosa and my physical and mental health were suffering badly. For the next few years, things went from bad to worse. I lost who I was as a person. But I kept pushing through, initially for my family but then for myself, in hopes that one day, I could have the life I dreamed. I started university in Plymouth two and a half years ago, studying acting, which was the perfect first step into getting my drive, ambition determination back to me. Now I am finally happy and back to myself again and cannot wait to grab this opportunity and dive right in at full force. But I need your help because it's expensive.

A bit about the costs:
Course Cost - $37,236
Rent estimation-$1,500-$2,800 per month
Living expense estimation - $500 per month
Flights estimation - £300 each way
Shipping costs estimation - £200
As you can see it's expensive. I am however lucky enough to have been awarded the talent scholarship worth $12,000 and I will be applying for more grants and scholarships.

I would like to thank anyone who donates.  I realise there are a lot of worthy causes out there but I truly appreciate anything you can offer - even 50p helps if you have it!
