New Wheelchair for Jazmin Ryan

Donation protected
Jazmin Almlie-Ryan has been in a wheelchair for 17 years. She is paralyzed from the waist down along with some hand and arm dysfunction caused by a progressive disease that attacks the nerves of her spine. Though one would have thought this would be considered a burden or a hardship, she has not let her situation get the best of her!

She has persevered while developing a professional athletic career as a member of the United States National Paralympic Shooting Team. She also recreationally plays many other adapted athletic sports which include quad rugby and wheelchair basketball.

She travels all around the world proudly representing the United States at various competitions and has been highly successful while doing it. She has multiple World Cup and stateside medals under her belt and has also competed at the Parapan American Games, 3 World Championships, and ultimately the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. Her current sights are on the 2021 Paralympic Games which are being held in Tokyo, Japan at the end of the Summer!

On 3/3/21 her wheelchair that she uses for everyday use was maliciously stolen from her driveway which is where she had parked it while she went to push around the park in a different wheelchair specifically and exclusively designed for athletic sports and working out. Outside of athletic activity, the chair that she was in at the time of theft, is unable to fit her needs for regular activities of daily living which includes getting into her home. Therefore, she was left sitting stranded outside until someone else was able to come home and bring her her spare backup wheelchair which is quite old and run down. The chair that was stolen was only 4 months old…☹

I have started this fundraiser to help Jazmin get a new and maybe even improved wheelchair! Thanks so much for taking the time to read her story and we appreciate you all so much!
