At-Risk Teen Program Needs for Capstone Project

EMPOWERING AT-RISK TEENS THROUGH ONE-ON-ONE MENTORING TO MAKE POSITIVE LIFE CHOICES. That's what Toledo Mountain Mentors does every day.  A faith-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Mountain Mentors serves at-risk teens and helps them make healthy decisions and become future leaders. Although headquartered in Toledo, OH, the capstone of the program is hiking in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. This experience is generally the highlight of the youth's program and helps reinforce everything they have learned throughout the year. There is a camp that serves as the base of operations for the camping expeditions which includes a cottage that provides the only source of first-world amenities for visitors and additional financial support through VRBO and Airbnb rentals. It contains a washer and dryer, which need replaced. Additionally, the camp is located on a very wooded property and firewood is needed for the camp. Having a log-splitter would help the team more efficiently keep that stocked. Mountain Mentors runs on a very tight budget comprised almost solely of donations, and unanticipated expenses such as this are not in the budget. We are asking our friends and those that want to see lives of at-risk youth continue to be transformed into leaders in our community to help Mountain Mentors purchase these necessary items.
