New start in America

Greetings,
My name is Alex, I have taken upon me to embark on a great journey to America and what I would now call my new home. I am coming from Thailand where I had work in the hospitality industry. I am sure as many of you are aware the Covid virus has ravaged the hospitality industry. I was in the middle of applying for jobs and had completed a final interview in Thailand when suddenly the country had to close due to an explosion in Covid cases in Thailand. Thailand remains closed since then taking but few people into the country and thus ending my opportunities in Thailand. I had two options between looking at Switzerland and America to make my permanent home. Since the job market is not so good in Switzerland I have decided to move to America. I know but few people in America and have no family in this part of the world.
In August I had contacted Dean Overholt, whom in the past has been very helpful to my younger brother in the past, in search of aid in my moving to America. He's very graciously accepted me and helped me through what I would say is a very difficult time for me. With his, support Dean is helping me find accommodations, possible vehicles to purchase, as well as a job. Every day I am able to complete some tasks which are essential to completing my emigration to America. Seeing what the world is like here has definitely given me a huge culture shock and I am in awe of how friendly and fun the American people can be.
My family comes from a very humble background, my mother has raised 4 children by herself in Thailand while running a foundation that is a vocational school for children coming out of orphanages in Thailand. She works very hard and has built her entire life around helping people. While some of my family were able to continue to stay in Thailand I was not due to my visa getting canceled recently. I have arrived here with very little baggage and money and will need to rely on the support of people. If any of you are able to support me I would like to write a personal thank you to you for your support and hopefully, be able to meet you if you're in the Pennsylvania community.
