New school shoes for Daily Bread Life orphanage

Donation protected
Hello! This semester through my study abroad program, I have had the opportunity to have an internship here in Tanzania, was placed at an orphanage called Daily Bread Life which was started and is run by Tanzanians. I have both seen and experienced how good they are at what they do- they have truly knit together a home and a family for kids who have been separated from their own for various reasons. It is a place of joy, of laughter, of tears (because, you know, 30+ kids living together basically as siblings), and so much love. The kids there have helped change my perspectives, have strengthened my faith, have become good friends of mine, have taught me so much Swahili (but of course always correct me to keep me humble hahaha), and have blessed me more than I can say.

Every Tuesday and Thursday I would arrive before the kids made their long trek back from school, and as the different age groups arrived they’d run to me to greet me, and then take off their black school shoes and line them all up. Nearly all the shoes had immense holes in them with soles truly hanging on by a thread. It pains me to know how far they have to walk every day in shoes that are hardly wearable- and yet how afterwards, they still run, jump around, and play as kids do, despite how their feet might ache.

With permission from my study abroad director, I am humbly asking if you will join me in helping to provide funds for my friends (approximately 40 kids) at daily bread life to receive new school shoes. I am hoping to have $500 raised within the next three weeks. Thank you for reading and considering :)
