New Roof For Elderly Neighbor
Donation protected
This fundraiser is on behalf of Sandy & all funds raised will be donated to her.
Sandy is a single woman who resides in her family home in Lancaster, MA. Currently 85, she moved back home to take care of her mother. After her mother's passing Sandy continued to act as a caregiver for ailing friends until their passing. Sandy's life work has been centered around giving. At 69, she went back to school to receive her CNA certification. She has shared numerous hours with the community using her skills to help with scouts, children's and senior events.
Sandy has two adult sons who would love to help her but for a variety of reasons they are unable. This leaves Sandy in a difficult position. She has not been able to keep up with repairs or bills and would love to continue her life in her family home but without the financial ability to repair her leaking roof it is unlikely. With her roof in such disrepair, it rains inside when its raining outside, she currently has a tarp bolted down to buy her some time. But this is not an effective measure for the cold New England winters.
There are few options for her, as even if she could move, the waiting list for senior housing is years long. Please help this kind, giving woman stay in her home in our community.
If anyone is able to help out in other ways besides a monetary contribution (your handy skills, leftover materials laying around) please reach out to me.
Thank you!
