Thank you for your interest in supporting New Men! This project is currently self-funded and motivated by a desire to bring Orthodox monasticism to a wider audience, challenging viewers to question their assumptions about what it means to lead a good life.
It seems that everything I've done in life has been preparation for this project—tons of reading and journaling about the meaning of life, working as a graphic designer in New York City, farming in Pennsylvania, studying improv comedy (which teaches you to listen closely and remain calm in the midst of uncertainty), and learning to film and edit—all this before I even learned about Orthodoxy or monasticism. I believe 100% that this is what I'm supposed to do with my life at this time and your support will help ensure that this project gets the focus it needs to be successful.
Filming will conclude with 2018 Pascha, and I'll wrap up editing in the summer of 2018. The film will be approximately 25 minutes long and will ultimately be available for viewing online. If you've signed up for updates at newmendoc.com, I'll notify you directly when the film is available for viewing.
Your contribution will go directly towards two things: lodging at the monastery ($30 donation per night), and transportation costs (I drive 6.5 hours one-way to reach the monastery.)
