New hips for Ziggy !

Last June, my best friend Ziggy was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia and arthritis (in both hips). I had noticed him limping after strenuous activity and wanted to be sure it was nothing serious. To my dismay, it was serious.

There are options other than total hip replacement (THR), but I feel this is the best (and most fair) option for Zig. He is SO active and loves the outdoors. I feel a tremendous amount of guilt because he can't do the things he loves - dog parks, hiking, doggy day care, etc. It's not fair to him to be restricted from these activities he loves so much. So, our next step is a consultation and surgery in July of 2018. This would be for only one of his legs (he's most likely going to need two surgeries - one for each leg).

These funds will be used towards the work-up, surgery, and post-op fees for Zig's first operation. The cost for this surgery ranges from $5000-$5500 per hip. I'll need to pay half of this before his surgery takes place.

It feels strange asking people for money, but there's no shame in my game. I'll do just about anything for the Zig-Meyster. ANYTHING you choose to contribute will help SO much and is SO SO appreciated! If you know me, you know how much Ziggy means to me (I cook him crock pot dinners for god's sakes). Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping Zig get his well-deserved robot legs!
