New Floor for Nanaimo Boxing Club
The Nanaimo Boxing Club is a non profit organization that currently serves both competitive and recreational boxers. The club has been in operation for over 40 years offering programs that teach the skills of boxing to beginners, intermediate, and advanced students. Boxing offers physical activity opportunities for everyone because of its diversity. They cater to students participating for fitness, to build confidence, learn self-defence, to highly competitive athletes. The club offers a safe environment for members to train in that is free from bullying; facilitating participation that is devoted to safety, conditioning and respect for each other.
Our head coach Barry Creswel has always kept club fees extremely affordable for the purposes of promoting the “sweet science” to the next generation of pugilists.
Through the years the carpeted flooring has seen its fair share of wear and tear... and now it is in dire need of upgrading. I’m asking you to help us upgrade our flooring to keep the club safe and sanitary, especially for our youngest members. Any donation will be greatly appreciated.
The club has 2000 sf training area in need of new floor and is estimated that it will cost approximately $8,000 for new 3/4” thick rubber mats. We have a solid group of people willing to volunteer time and elbow grease to install the floor. We will also be painting and will need supplies and of course paint!
