New Bike for Yan

Those of us who work in the Southington area have all gotten to meet and know Yan. This young man has shown a deep and passionate interest in protective services. Wether you work in a cruiser, engine, or ambulance, Yan has nothing but the greatest respect for you. He is always a polite young man who shows his love for all of us in uniform by posting photos and videos of our vehicle responding to calls all over town. Many of you have seen him riding around town on his mountain bike. What most of you won’t know is that that bike is as old as, if not older than, he is. Over the time knowing Yan he has come to know that I love bikes and riding. We recently spoke and he told me the reason he has been walking a lot more recently is because of a mechanical failure of his bike. Sadly, being so old, the repairs will cost much more than what the cost of the bike is worth at this point. Yan has shown nothing but love for us and what we do. Now is the time to repay that and show Yan how much we appreciate him and all he does to support us. I’ve already purchased the new bicycle and am hoping to collect donations to offset the cost. Of the full cost has been covered whatever else is left will go to Yan to help pay for either an EMR or EMT class he has spoken about wanting to do when he is old enough.
