Help Buy New Bicycles For Disabled Children

**UPDATE 27/5/21** - Thanks to everybody we have met our original target of £2500! We have been so encouraged by all of your donations and support that we decided to be a little optimistic and raise our target to £3000. Every pound raised will help us buy more and better equipment for our children, so please continue to share and spread our fundraiser!

Would you like to make a positive impact in the lives of disabled children and young people?
Lady Allen Adventure Playground has provided a safe, inclusive, and exciting play service for disabled children and young people in South West London for over 50 years. The service is both child-led and child-centred: meaning that children and young people choose when, how and what they play with. This means they have a sense of ownership, enabling them to make choices, develop friendships and have fun!
Our children absolutely love playing with bicycles, scooters and tricycles. However, years of love and use has damaged our equipment, leaving it unrepairable and unusable. Meanwhile, our annual allocated funding has had to be spent on compulsory site and vandalism-related repairs and new safety measures, leaving nothing left over for new bikes.
As the playwork team, we have decided to take things into our own hands and have organised a 50km sponsored walk to raise money for the much needed equipment ourselves. The distance of 50km represents the number of years our playground has been open, and will be covered in just one day! We will start from Lady Allen, following the river Thames to Teddington before walking back to the playground.
The walk will be taking place on Sunday 30/5/21 - Please help us reach our target by this date. We will keep fundraising open for a few weeks after this date.
We will be sure to update this page with photos of our walk and in turn, the new bikes!
Bikes are a huge part of the culture at Lady Allen. So many children have first learnt how to cycle whilst on our playground. It is a skill many of us take for granted, but goes a huge way to boosting the self-confidence of our children and young people. With your support we can continue to facilitate these magic moments for future generations of Lady Allen children.
