<div>As many of you know, I left a great job as a medical rep in June 2023 with plans to begin a new life in Spain that fall. After seemingly getting my ducks in a row, I started a new remote job that July, with the intention of utilizing that opportunity to acquire my nomad visa and begin my next European chapter. Life, however, had other plans. After that dream fell apart, I found myself still in Los Angeles, trying to make things work - piecing together new paths while holding onto hope.

<div>In the fall of 2023, I returned to education with an opportunity as a special education resource teacher — a job I loved deeply and one that brought a real sense of purpose. Unfortunately, a long delay with my credential paperwork set everything back. The California credential office took five months to clear a single permit, and that delay cost me the chance at a full-time position and a credential program that would have been paid for by the school. The ripple effect was devastating. I fell behind on rent, bills, and car payments — and now I find myself facing eviction, just after having my car repossessed (and thankfully recovered with help).

<div>This period has also amplified another challenge I haven’t always been comfortable talking about: depression. The ugly “D” word can freeze forward motion — not out of lack of will, but because the weight becomes paralyzing. Trying to stay afloat while fighting that invisible battle has not been a new struggle for me, but it has been an increasingly challenging one. Even in the face of that challenge, I’m resolved to hold onto one thing: hope, and I’m determined to turn this moment into a new beginning.

<div>I’m raising funds to:  Catch up on rent and essential bills so I can stay housed and stable.  Launch Les Fleurs de Frey — a “bouquet of the day” flower business named after my beloved dog, Winfrey. This venture will bring color, connection, and a touch of beauty to others’ days while helping me rebuild financial independence.  Invest in creative resources to complete and stage my one-man show, “Hooker Adjacent”, which I aim to debut at the Los Angeles Fringe Festival next June.

<div>My goal is to raise $20,000 to cover rent, start-up materials for Les Fleurs de Frey (supplies, flowers, permits, and marketing), and initial production costs for my show.

<div>This chapter of my life is about resilience, reinvention, and refusing to give up — even when things look bleak. Every dollar, every share, every word of encouragement means the world right now.
