Life's been a rollercoaster lately, to say the least. It feels like we've weathered more storms than I ever imagined possible. Back in 2021, it felt like the ground fell out from under us. We lost our home, just like that. Code enforcement knocked on the door and told us we had to leave and we could not retrieve any items.

All we had left was what we could cram into our car on a moments notice. Hotels became our temporary homes for what felt like an eternity until we managed to secure a tiny apartment.

Then things got even crazier. Dealing with a tough situation at home meant taking legal steps to protect my kids and me. That's why our names and faces aren't disclosed – safety is a priority. It's been hard since then. Our last place didn't work out due to the domestic dispute, and I hustled like crazy, juggling two jobs to scrape together enough for another roof over our heads. Exhaustion became the norm, and I shut down, physically and mentally.

We're aiming for a fresh start, a real chance at making things better. We've got family in another state willing to lend a hand, and it's a lifeline we can't ignore. But making a move, especially one that's 9 hours away, comes with a truckload of expenses.

We're not asking for a miracle, just a little help to make this leap possible. The funds we're hoping for will cover the essentials – a Uhaul to transport our things to this new chapter, security deposit, and first month's rent.
