New American Legion Post 229 North Padre Island

Hi, my name is Ken Ames and I am the Public Affairs Officer for American Legion Post 229 "The Islander Post" located on North Padre Island, Corpus Christi, Texas. We received our charter in July 2023.

The American Legion is the nation's largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans.

The American Legion's success depends entirely on active membership, participation and volunteerism. The organization belongs to the people it serves and the communities in which it thrives.

The funds will be put to use in establishing a physical location for our chapter and helping with the start up costs involved with a new chapter.

We are a 501 (c) 19 nonprofit entity so all donations can be used as a tax deduction. Tax receipts are available upon request.
