The Architectural Humanities Research Association (AHRA) is a non-profit academic organisation that provides an inclusive and comprehensive network for researchers in the architectural humanities.
Background
The Architectural Humanities Research Association (AHRA) is a non-profit academic organisation that provides an inclusive and comprehensive network for researchers in the architectural humanities. Founded in 2003, the AHRA has a wide international membership. It promotes, supports, develops and disseminates high-quality research in the areas of architectural history, theory, culture, design and urbanism.
The AHRA has always operated without any regular funding. Membership is free, and the Annual International Conferences cover their own costs through delegate fees. The Annual PhD Student Symposia are also free to attend. The members of the steering committee, which meets twice each year, contribute their time for free. Working groups meet more frequently, again on a voluntary basis. For example, the AHRA ‘Events’ group works directly with conference organisers to share best practice from previous events, and the ‘REF’ group actively lobbies Research England for better representation for architectural humanities researchers.
As the AHRA moves into its next phase of existence, it has ambitious plans. This includes rebuilding and relaunching its website, further augmenting its activities with regard to conferences and publications, including open access publications on the website, and offering additional vital contemporary support to research and teaching in the area of architectural humanities.
The new AHRA website will become an important repository and archive of resources, and is key to the strategic aim of making the work of AHRA more accessible and inclusive, worldwide and relevant beyond academia. The new website will provide a contemporary, stable and flexible directory, expanding our online database connecting individual members around the world, providing a point of contact and essential means of distribution. The new website will also continue to list funding opportunities and conference calls, academic journals, and other popular resources for researchers. The bi-monthly newsletter will be published through the new website, linked via a regular email to its members.

The individual and institutional funders of this project will be listed on the new AHRA website itself, and on other publicity, according to the following categories:
Benefactor (£1000)
A contribution of £1000 will allow individuals or institutions to be listed as AHRA Benefactor. A Benefactor donation will cover the cost for the Newsletter design and build, and support and training.
Patron (£500)
A contribution of £500 will allow individuals or institutions to be listed as AHRA Patron. A Patron donation will cover a Day Rate for the building of the new website.
Sponsor (£250)
A contribution of £250 will allow individuals or institutions to be listed as AHRA Sponsor. A Sponsor donation will cover a Day Rate for the designing of the new website or the Craft CMS licence.
Friend (£100)
A contribution of £100 will allow individuals or institutions to be listed as AHRA Friend. A Friend donation will cover the cost for the hosting of the new website per year.
Supporter (£50)
A contribution of £50 will allow individuals or institutions to be listed as AHRA Sponsor. A supporter donation will cover the cost for the Craft CMS licence yearly update.
Contributor (£25 or less)
Every penny counts, and all contributions will be acknowledged.
