<div>Hallo ihr Lieben,
</div>
</div>
<div>1.	Wer sind wir?
</div>
<div>2.	Für wen sammeln wir Spenden?
</div>
<div>2.1 Berufsfelder/ Ausbildung
</div>
<div>2.2 Schüler*innen
</div>
<div>3.	Was ist im vergangenen Jahr passiert ?
</div>
<div>4.	Warum ist uns die Kampagne wichtig?
</div>
<div>5.	Woher kennen wir die spendenbegünstigte Person?
</div>
<div>6.	Wie verwenden wir die Spenden?
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>1.	Wer sind wir?</em>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>2.	Für wen sammeln wir Spenden?</em>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>2.1 Berufsfelder/ Ausbildung
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>2.2 Schüler*innen
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>3.	Was ist vergangenen Jahr passiert?</em>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>4.	Warum ist uns die Kampagne wichtig?</em>
</div>
</div>
<div>a.
</div>
<div>b.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>5.	Woher kennen wir die spendenbegünstigte Person?</em>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>6.	Wie verwendest du die Spenden? </em>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>

<div>______________
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hello everybody,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>in this report we want to explain the following topics about our fundraising "New Year Projects of an Ecological Vocational School in Ghana":
</div>
<div>1.	Who are we?
</div>
<div>2.	For whom do we collect donations?
</div>
<div>2.1	Vocational fields/ education
</div>
<div>2.2 Students
</div>
<div>3.	What happened last year?
</div>
<div>4.	Why is the campaign important to us?
</div>
<div>5.	How do we know the beneficiary of the donation?
</div>
<div>6.	How do we use the donations?
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>1. Who are we?</em>
</div>
<div>We are Kukumba (<a target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">www.kukumba.org),</a> a donation-based association formed in 2013 to help build an ecologically focused vocational school in the Volta Region of Ghana. The Kukumba team works closely with the school and plans new projects every year. At the moment we con-sist of 7 active members, who actively contribute to the daily life of the association. Most of us have already visited Ghana or have been there for a longer period of time in the form of a vol-untary service and have worked in the vocational school. One of our team members even comes from the village, lives in Germany in the meantime and is an important connection to the community.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>2. For whom do we collect donations?</em>
</div>
<div>ViECOtech (short for Vocational Institute for Ecological Techniques) is an ecologically oriented vocational school in the Volta region in the small village of Fume. Noah, the founder of the school, has set out to offer students who, for various reasons, have not found a place in the state school system, a chance to graduate anyway. For this purpose, general school contents are taught and practical skills for various professions are imparted. A special concern and a cornerstone of the school is the focus on an education that can be in harmony with nature and is so each vocational training is ecologically oriented.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>2.1 Vocational Fields/ Training
</div>
<div>At ViECOtech, students can choose to focus on Ecological Agriculture, Fashion Design, Build-ing and Construction, Electricals or Architectural Drawing after an individual counselling ses-sion. Some of the teachers have practical experience and can thus combine important theoret-ical content with practical knowledge and pass it on.
</div>
<div>The professions offer great potential to generate income, which they are already doing in part by growing corn and other agricultural products, building projects in the region and making clothes. Currently, the school is not yet financially independent, as the school fees are low in order to give all interested people the opportunity to attend the school.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>2.2 Students
</div>
<div>Some of our students come from the Avatime region and neighbouring villages or travel further distances. Many of them live in a boarding house during school hours, which is similar to a boarding school, so that they do not have to travel the long distances every day. The ages of our students range from 17 to late twenties, and some are over 50 years old. Anyone who wants to learn is welcome here.
</div>
<div>Working students are able to complete their education at ViECOtech on a part-time basis. For those who find reading and writing difficult, the course content is taught in a practical way. Learning to read and write English is also supported.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>3. What happened last year?</em>
</div>
<div>Last year, despite all the difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many projects were suc-cessfully completed. Issues that had been on the agenda for years were successfully complet-ed this year, such as the connection of the campus to the electricity grid and the roofing of the second school building. This allowed more students to be accommodated on campus and more classrooms to be added. If you are interested in learning what else happened in 2021, please feel free to subscribe to our newsletter, visit our website (<a target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">www.kukumba.org),</a> or learn more through our social media channels listed below.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>4. Why is the campaign important to us?</em>
</div>
<div>This campaign is important to us because, through the three defined projects, it moves the school forward, advancing and promoting this unique concept. This school is so special for two reasons:
</div>
<div>a. it offers young and older people in the countryside the opportunity to learn a profession or a specification of the profession as a way away from the traditional agriculture and is open to all. Thus, the school contributes to the fact that education is not centralized in the big cities and is dependent on financial possibilities of the individual person.
</div>
<div>b. The ecological orientation of the school can have a model function in the region. The first effects of man-made climate change, are already felt in Ghana and it is of particular im-portance to learn, live and reflect ecological and sustainable behaviour.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>5. How do we know the donor beneficiary?</em>
</div>
<div>We both know Noah personally from our time in Ghana. During our time there, we were able to experience an incredible amount of his positive, benevolent, unselfish and open nature and have kept in contact with him since then, both project-related and privately.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>6) How do you use the donations? </em>
</div>
<div>The donations are used for various aspects of the school's daily life, which we unfortunately cannot manage independently without external support.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Campus: As already mentioned, large construction sites on the school grounds could be tack-led and partly completed. However, further projects are pending, such as the connection of the second building to the power grid. A kitchen, as well as additional classrooms and accommo-dations are planned to be installed in the newly roofed building. For this, a total cost of 910€ (6265 GHC) has been calculated as the first mark-up.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Enrolment: 2570 GHC / 370€: During the enrolment drive the school should be advertised. In Ghana it is common to travel to the different villages in the region to present the school and its program. Through this exchange, students have been successfully convinced of the school several times in the past, as can be seen in the current strong increase in the number of stu-dents.
</div>
<div>The costs of the enrolment drive are divided into costs for travel to and from the school and costs on site. The travel costs are the smaller part with about 160€ (1.120 GHC). The rest (210€/ 1,450 GHC) is for on-site costs such as rental fees for technology, announcements and other costs.
</div>
<div>In this enrolment drive in December 2021 and January 2022, around 29 villages will be target-ed and again many new students will be recruited.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Farming: 2130 GHC / 310€: In the school's own agriculture a new arable land is to be devel-oped. On this land corn, cocoyam and plantain as well as other crops will be cultivated in a soil nourishing crop rotation. In addition, seedlings and seeds will need to be purchased for the existing cropland. The enclosure of the growing grasscutter and goat families will also be ex-panded. Expanding and tilling the croplands will cost 125€ (860 GHC). Expanding the enclo-sures will require approximately 185€ (1,270 GHC). In the future, another vegetable garden with sustainable drip irrigation is planned.
</div>
<div>Finally, we can only thank you for showing interest in our project up to this point. We are happy about every donation, because really every donation helps! Feel free to send the crowdfunding link to Family &amp; Friends as well.
