Nettie's Naturally, Forced to Close

Hello, friends,

Lynette Potgieter, owner of Nettie’s Naturally Bakery & Cafe, recently went to visit her sister in Switzerland, and encountered an unexpected problem on her way back — her visa stamp was denied. She doesn’t know why, and the time frame to process her green card could be months. Until then, she’s in South Africa living with her parents. In light of this situation, Lynette had to close down her bakery, as she pours the fruits of her five years of labor in Jackson Ward into recovering from this blow.

‘“This is costing me an absolute fortune,” she said, noting the costs to apply for the green card, renew her visa, pay her immigration attorneys and book her flight to South Africa, after giving up her nonrefundable plane ticket to the U.S.’

Richmond, our neighbor needs our help! Thank you for your love and care for Lynette, and your eagerness to help her, in this difficult time. Any amount you can contribute to help her through this miserable situation is very much appreciated. We are trying to raise $5000 to help cover the next two months of costs associated with the store front, including rent, insurance, utilities and final payroll expenses. Thank you for your help!
