Our daughter Claudia is engaged to the lovely Freddie, and they’re both only 25 years old.

Unfortunately 13 months ago Freddie became unwell, and has been unable to work since. At first the doctors didn’t know why Freddie was so poorly, he had a biopsy 12 months ago, nothing was found, yet he continued to deteriorate. In February this year, Freddie went down hill very quickly and was placed into a coma, still with no answers. A week later the ‘random’ illness/infection attacked his heart and he had a double valve replacement. Recovery was slow, and the doctors hoped he’d magically recover and all would be well. Sadly this wasn’t the case, and Freddie continued to be unwell. Another biopsy was done last month, and last week the results finally came back. Devastatingly it’s Hodgkins Lymphoma, which finally solves all the mysteries of the last 13 months. Freddie is now facing 2 rounds of chemo and radiotherapy, and he’ll then have further scans to determine the next steps. Thankfully the prognosis is good, but the last 13 months have taken a huge toll, particularly financially. As a young couple they have their own home, and their wedding is booked for next year, and they really need some help to take the pressure off whilst Freddie undergoes the necessary treatment to get better.
