Nerissa Armesto Memorial

Nerissa G. Armesto of Queens, New York died on Monday, April 6, 2020 at her home from complications due to covid-19.  She was 66. 

The youngest of 11 children, Nerissa or “Eris” as she was affectionately called was born in Calamba, Laguna Philippines to Teodoro and Sinforosa Armesto.  After finishing high school, she attended Philippine Women’s University in Manila where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition.  

In 1974 she moved to New York to join her brother, the late Dr. David G. Armesto and worked as a Dietician at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn while going to Grad School.  

In 1979, she earned a Masters Degree at New York University in Nutrition and Dietetics. In May of 1988, she began working as a Renal Dietician at the Nephrology Foundation of Brooklyn, now known as the Rogosin Institute East.  She worked there for 32 years until her death in April of this year.  

Eris was a very loyal person devoted to her family and friends. She was also a woman of prayer.  She was a woman of faith who trusted God.  She attended Saint Nicholas of Tolentine Church in Jamaica, NY.  She was a hardworking person of great integrity.  She had a passion for learning and enjoyed the arts, specifically Broadway musicals. 
She will be sorely missed by both her family and friends.  She is survived by her sisters, Clarita A. Enardecido, Cecilia G. Armesto, and Amelita A. Matibag. 

Due to the coronavirus social distancing measures, there will be no funeral service at this time. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to this campaign.

All proceeds of this fundraiser will go exclusively to cover costs of the funeral, burial, and other related  expenses.
