Children's Home Pokhara Nepal

Just returned to Dubai from a 9 day trip to Nepal, the purpose of which was to give my time to young boys in a children's home in a village called Pokhara. I would like to share my experience that even words and pictures can't do justice to. I stayed with the boys in very basic living conditions; electricity cuts throughout the day, no hot water, eating rice and lentils daily, walking miles to the nearest town, sharing a room with mites, cockroaches and God knows what else! Sleeping in 4 layers as well as a wooly hat and scarf because it was freezing! Made me realize many things; one of which how simple and basic a life I can lead. It was difficult and this is the life of these children everyday. I come back to my home in dubai and am grateful for hot water, a clean bed and all of life's luxuries I have. I am extremely blessed and grateful for everything and every person in my life and for the amazing experience I have had. Beautiful boys of Happy Home, Nepal

There were 7 boys in the home and one lady running it. The ages were from 5-16 years old and they have been bought there due to their parents not having the money to fund them or because they have lost their family. One of the younger boys had lost his mum and dad to the earthquake in Nepal and another had lost their mum to Yellow Fever.

The children are absolutely amazing and despite their circumstances are positive and making the most of the home and education they get. 

We would like to raise some funds to make their time even more enjoyable. Give them some of things that we take for granted. Their TV is old and not working, the shoes and clothes they have are ill fitting and the place at night gets cold. What they get from volunteers they genuinely treasure so I know what ever we can get for them they will appreciate and look after.

Hot water bottles 
Backpacks
Shoes and Trainers
Clothes
Board games
Books
Heater

I know that anything we can provide will mean alot to these children and to myself and the other volunteers who decided we should do this page. 

We would greatly appreciate any support you can give over the next month, no matter how little. Together lets make 2018 a great time for them.
