Avery&Alex: Nepal Trip, Summer 2014!

Hello! Our names are Avery Miller and Alex Sotkovsky. We are setting a goal of $7,000.00 USD to fund our volunteer trip to Nepal. This money goes toward:
-Two round trip flights
-Program fees
-Registration fees
-And other various fees along the way
We would greatly appreciate donations, no matter how big or small. If a monetary donation is not possible, please consider donating gently used children's clothing, new children's underwear and socks, hair ribbons, bars of soap and other non liquid toiletries, or small treats for us to take with us on our trip. These children do not get to experience many of the luxuries that we take for granted on a day to day basis, so any gift, no matter the size, is sure to brighten their day. Please refrain from donating anything that can be toxic (food allergies), any to with small parts, any food item perishable or fragile, anything breakable, liquids, or large toys. If you wish to make a non-money donation, please get in touch with either Avery or Alex, good ways are through friends or family as well as Facebook.
We chose this trip because we felt it was a wonderful chance to experience a different part of the world and make a difference along the way. Our arrival date will be either June 15th or July 1st and we would stay for three weeks (21 days). On this trip we will be stationed just outside the capital, Kathmandu, with a host family for a time period of three weeks. The first 3 days of the trip we will be undergoing orientation, learning basic Nepali customs, speech, and about our volunteering. We will be working with school aged children who are orphaned for one reason or another. We will be spending our time with them playing games, teaching them English, doing chores, crafts, singing songs, and being a big sibling to them. At the end of each day we will have free time to experience the city and socialize with other volunteers. At around 8pm each night we will be having dinner with our host family. This trip will give us a chance to make a difference in a place that truly needs it.
The company we are traveling through is a new yet trusted volunteer placement company by the name of International Volunteer Headquarters. The company has placed almost 30,000 volunteers around the country since 2007. The people working with us will be able to ensure that we will be placed and working together for our trip.
