Nelson Landrieu Memorial Fund

Donation protected
On October 30th, 2019, the Landrieu family lost their beloved husband, father, and grandparent, Nelson.

Nelson represented a golden age of hope, when the spirit of self-determination was a way forward; when our common spaces were something that you could work to improve for the benefit of all.  Especially for Puerto Rican and Latino artists, for whom little was given and at a time and place where they had little power, the ability to find and seize space was this grand opportunity to empower our community. Nelson a working actor and director originally from Uruguay, gave his time and his heart to build a theatre -Teatro LATEA-, and The Clemente Soto Velez Cultural Center; both of which stand to this day because of his efforts.

Nelson was the sole provider for his younger sister "Martita" who resides in Uruguay. Martita has special needs and is cared for in a group home. This fund is set up to off-set funeral expenses, support Martita's expenses as well as continue his support and love for Teatro LATEA.

Nelson was a caring and loving husband, a devoted father, and a fun and affectionate grandpa. He will be missed dearly.

All contributions will go to help support his sister and his passion for the arts at Teatro LATEA. Please share with anyone who would like to contribute.
