Nell's TWLOHA Internship

Hey friends!
As a lot of you may already know, this summer I have been offered a position as one of seven interns for the non- profit organization To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA for short). TWLOHA is a non-profit movement based in Melbourne, Florida, dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with mental illness, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire, and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery.
To Write Love on Her Arms has been a huge part of my story over the last couple years, and I am so excited to give back to an organization that means so much to me. Only recently have I began to be open about my struggles with mental illness, and that is largely due to the influence of TWLOHA. When I was in some of my darkest times, I found a home in the words that they shared from people in places similar to me. They taught me that I am not my mental illness, that I don’t have to be ashamed of my pain. I learned that it is always worth it to stay alive, that things get better. It taught me that I am not alone, that there are people who want to walk through my pain with me. It taught me that I can be that person for those around me. I know from experience how hard it can be to reach out to someone for help, and I want to be able to provide help to those who are struggling in some of those same ways.
I am very excited for the adventure this opportunity will bring and the chance to make a positive impact in people's lives. This internship is something that I've been dreaming about for years, and while I am so so excited to give back to this organization, it is unpaid and requires that I move to Florida for three months this coming summer.
Through this GoFundMe, I am reaching out to ask if you might help me raise money that will cover the cost of my three months in Melbourne. I have set a goal of $4,500, which will cover the costs of rent/ living costs (both in Oxford and in Melbourne), groceries, flight costs and other travel expenses, as well as any other necessities that will come up. This is a lofty goal, but I am trusting the Lord to meet my every need during my time with TWLOHA.
To Write Love on Her Arms is an organization that inspires people to be hopeful, to believe in better days to come, to believe in healing, and encourages people to be loving and empathetic. I am absolutely honored to have this opportunity and would be honored to have your support in this endeavor. All gifts, no matter how large or small, will be appreciated and put to use.
