After suffering two strokes, one in April 2012, the latest in February 2014, and a series of mini-strokes, I've been advised not to drive. My wife and I recently separated and I moved back to Oklahoma where I graduated high school. I'm medically retired, but to stay busy I continue to pursue my passion for small-town journalism, continuing a news site covering the Mat-Su Borough, Alaska, contributing to a site I started in Boundary County, Idaho, and am set to launch a new site covering northeast Comanche County, Oklahoma, next week.
Asking for help is hard for me, but I hate being a burden on others even more. Being mobile is essential for me to be able to do what I love and to contribute to the communities that are dear to me.
This tricycle will make living on my own much easier, and enable me to get out with my camera and notepad to cover events in the community I've come home to - the ball games, reunions and more. In addition, it will give me the mobility to get to the grocery, the doctor's office and other places I need to go without having to burden others, and give me therapy to help regain use of my left side.
These things are far closer here than they were in Alaska, where I moved from, making this bike the best and safest way for me to get where I need to go.

It will allow me to maintain a measure of independence, perhaps the most devastating thing the strokes robbed me of.
I'd planned to save up for this electric/pedal tricycle, but being on a limited income it will take me months, if not years, and I don't want to miss out on that much.
