Neelu Lepcha Kidney Transplant Fund

I am making this urgent appeal for my friend Neelu Lepcha who is a 30 year old woman and has kidney disease. She is from the Jaigaon, Bhutan border area of India and is the younger sister of Rita Lepcha. Neelu has been on dialyisis for almost 3 years due to kidney failure. Now, Neelu urgently needs to have a kidney transplant.
Thankfully, Neelu's mother is a perfect match to be her kidney donor! Neelu and her mother have been in Calcutta (Kolkata), India in the hospital for the last 3 months. All of the testing and paperwork has been completed and they have been approved for the mother to be the donor and for the transplant surgery to be done.
The desperate and immediate need is for the money required to be able to go forward with the transplant surgery. In Calcutta, the money must be paid up front prior to the surgery. I am reaching out to humbly request your financial contribution to help Neelu have the kidney transplant and save her life. The money raised will be given to the hospital in Kolkata for the surgery. It is not like in the United States. The money must be paid prior to Neelu receiving the kidney transplant.
This situation is urgent and desperate. Without the needed money there will be no transplant. They (mom and Neelu) urgently need 7 Lakhs which is equivalent in the United States to $11,000 for the transplant to go forward.

This summer I was on mission in Jaigon, India and met with Rita in her home and learned of Neelu's mother being a kidney donor match and the need for $11,000 for the transplant surgery.
4. All of the money raised will be used to pay for the cost of the kidney transplant for Neelu Lepcha.
5. The money will be sent by bank transfer to the bank account set up for the money raised for the kidney transplant.
