Hi, my name is Kerry Ann and I’m here in hopes of raising some money for my cat Weenie’s surgery. She has a significant abscess on her tail that is being treated with antibiotics currently as it became infected. You can see the chunk in her tail in the snow pic
That was the yucky part of this….oh wait, I’m part of the yucky part as well. So here it goes. I’m back home after a nasty car accident that left me full of enough metal parts to make Ikea jealous. After my depression kicked in to 5th gear I ended up visiting my brother in Alberta and returning with a wee black kitten that he had found in a snow bank in his driveway. That was not part of the plan but it was winter in Alberta! Well Halloween, close enough. It was cold. He kept her twin brother(more on him later). She was a little trooper. Next year, rinse repeat. I guess what I’m getting at is my little HalloWeenie and I are very close. She’s been sleeping on my chest since the day we met.
OK, good stuff time! Little Baby Weenie Frederick(after my brother who found her) is so spoiled but it’s because she’s soooo smart AND talented! Paw? No problem. Other paw? On it! Up pretty? I’m up I’m up! Spin? Weeee
Weenie, 6, lives in Sydney with her 2 old weird aunts. Issues seriously….Rosie is nuts anyway, I digress. Weenie is good, no, she’s a great!
kitty who pulled the short straw health wise. She has some autoimmune thing that she’s had since she was a kitten and it causes parts of her skin to pimple and scab….I’m digressing again…her twin brother has the same thing, so we’ve easily been able to rule out certain allergies. It’s cyclical and some outbreaks are worse than others.
Now about her tail, I noticed a lump about a year ago and had it checked then. We decided on a wait and see Rx. Last week I noticed she was licking it and when I looked, I could see it needed better eyes than mine. We went to the vet last week, determined it was infected but due to my poor finances, we were all hoping that once the infection was cleared things would settle down. That’s not what happened. I could tell she wasn’t doing very good and made an appointment to go back, which was today. I want to be perfectly clear, I am NOT criticizing the clinic, doctor nothing…just my own inability to have emergency funds. The doctor, who was lovely and kind and sympathetic prepared an estimate for me. What do I do? I’m on a fixed income with disability.I struggle with MS. I live with my senior, also on a senior’s income, father(I call his cats Weenie’s aunts). I asked on a local fb group for ideas and several people suggested I try this, so I’m trying. I’m trying everything. That little black cat is my world and I’m pretty sure she feels the same about me. I don’t know much about cats (which is why she can shake a paw) but I’m learning so much from her every day. I really didn’t know cats make facial expressions! A few years ago, I posted a little video of Weenie and her aunt on my YT channel and it got quite a few hits but things are relative aren’t they? https://youtu.be/53A0tyV5Ftc?si=tsYS-myTSK8DRzVS
I’m doing my best, day after day. I feed animals in my yard. I shelter animals in my yard. I never leave my yard. I love my yard.
If I’m lucky enough that I receive any funds from here, the vet appointment will be booked asap. Tomorrow I will post a photo of the estimate from the clinic. Thank you so much for your time Kerry and Weenie
