HELP FIX OUR Need a Coffee? VAN

For the past year we have been operating a coffee van, "NEED A COFFEE" , providing a very valuable service in the Illawarra.
Our volunteers connect over coffee ☕️ with those of our friends who may be living on the streets, are in tough situations.
We are there for anyone who needs a friend.
Some people feel lost, have no one to listen, talk or connect with, that's where we come in...
We provide food, personal care items and a friendly space of trust and connection, a space where our friends feel loved, worthy and a part of something.
Everyone looks forward to getting their morning coffee and alot of people now have a sense of purpose.
The relationships ❣️ we have built with our friends who are living in some pretty tough situations, is heartwarming.

☕️$1 barista made, freshly ground coffee - affordable for EVERYONE

Our Need a Coffee van has given us ALOT of problems since we bought it due to the way it has originally been set up.
We have spent alot of money to get it up to scratch and get the compliance certificates so it is safe to use.
ANOTHER problem has now arisen...
The generator is 'gushing' fuel when we turn it on, the exhaust pipe has been leaking CARBON MONOXIDE into the cabin which is a MAJOR safety issue.
Alex from WISE Integrated is working on the coffee van and has said we have basically been lucky so far that the van has not 'exploded'...
We have definately been looked after so far in terms of safety.
OUR GOAL:
☕️Raise funds so we can install a LITHIUM BATTERY, this will eliminate the need for a generator and make our van safe for the volunteers to operatre

☕️a non-judgemental space for everyone
☕️a sense of purpose
