Chennai floods has disturbed not just the life of rich and famous, but did not spare the already less fortunate fellow chennaites who were dragged to the rubbles without food, water and hope. These poor, distressed and displaced have no means of moving in to sheratons and Marriotts, let alone a piece of dry land. All I am asking is for you to spare few dollars, pounds,euro, rupees or any loose change that you may have forgotten in your jeans or wallets. It is not that difficult to sacrifice your frappuchinos or cappuchinos or Lattes or just one meal outside with your friends and family for these unfortunate beings. Anything and everything that you provide for these helpless fellow beings will go a long way.
Please, please help me help some of the less fortunate who are seriously in need of food, clothing and shelter.

I am from chennai and currently live in Houston, Texas. I have my family including my parents who have witnessed this disaster. Fortunately, they do not face the same grave situation as many other poor chennaites. My cousins who have witnessed first hand destruction have taken up the task of helping some of the families who have no where to go. The relief from Tamil Nadu administration is either not reaching them on time or not sufficient for them to survive.
These funds will be utilized to provide temporary housing, food, clothing and medical assistance to a small community for some of the worst affected neighbourhoods. We are planning on utilizing these funds in fixing the destroyed homes, providing medical support for the elderly and children, temporary homes or make-shift homes until the housing situation is resolved.
