Need help for critical cat care for 2 cats.

Donation protected

This past week Matt and I got hit with some incredibly hard news. Both of our beloved cats, Allonsy (the tuxedo) and Grimlock (the orange and white) are very sick, with different conditions. Grimlock has been having trouble eating, then Allonsy started wheezing and snorting with every breath and stopped eating entirely. (If you know Allonsy, you know how absolutely bizarre that is. Allonsy is the most food driven cat to ever live.) On Wednesday, I called out of work and took them to the ER.

Grimlock has been diagnosed with idiopathic hypercalcemia. His calcium levels are too high and it's causing kidney damage. It's also possible that he could have some form of cancer (possibly in his spleen). We're waiting on tests to find out. He will probably need to be on a steroid for the rest of his life if it's NOT cancer. If it is...he would need chemo.

Allonsy has something blocking his nasal cavity, which is preventing him from being able to smell, and thus preventing him from being able to identify food. We are currently hand feeding him a high calorie food twice a day to make sure he has something in his system while we wait to get him in for a rhinoscopy and CT scan to find out what's going on inside his nose. Possibilities include inflammation, a fungal infection, or again...cancer. Other than the wheezing and not eating, he seems perfectly healthy. His bloodwork was all fine.

Matt and I have scraped everything we reasonably can to pay for the ER visit and their medications up to this point. (almost 3k) But Allonsy's diagnostic tests have been estimated to me as costing as much as 4-6 thousand dollars, and that's not including any treatment he might need afterward for whatever they find (or anything further for Grimmy.) We simply do not have that money on hand, and we have no been able to find anywhere that will offer us a payment plan.

Which is where hopefully, you all can come in. Some of you know our cats. They're both people loving cats who adore playing or cuddling with anyone who visits our home. Some of you haven't had the pleasure of meeting them. But I hope if you have some spare money, you might be able to spare it for us. Allonsy is 9. Grimmy is only 5. Both of them could have so many years left in them if we can just get this stuff treated. These cats have been with us through so much. I got Allonsy right after Matt and I got married (literally on the drive home from our honeymoon). To lose either of them just because we couldn't afford the testing would be absolutely crushing. Anything you can spare would help us get this testing done, and pay for their treatment after.  We hate to have to ask, but we hate even more to lose them.

In the unlikely event we raise more money here than we need, we plan to donate it to the shelters where we got them. Both of them were shelter/foster kitties. Allonsy came from a shelter back east called Robin's Nest and Grimlock from one out here called Cat's Cradle.

Please help us save them. They're good boys, and seeing them hurting is breaking our hearts.
