Need a New Roof for my Mom!

Hello my name is Monica and my family and I want to tell you about our wonderful 85 year old Mother Harriet. A few people know, but many don't.

In May my mother fell for a phone call Scam, hook, line, and sinker. She was told she WON the Publishers Clearing House by phone calls from a John Martin and Deborah Larson. They buttered her up, sending her text each day, asking about her family, asking was she taking her medication as needed. Making her feel like they were family and genuinely wanting to be a part of her life.

They sent her a Real IRS Form advising she had to pay the taxes before she could get the money. Money she wanted to use to pass on to her family to take care of them.

Well she paid them all right, IN THE TUNE OF $207,000.00, yes that many zeros, by cashing out our her IRA, her savings account, sending them Gift Cards, and charging it to her credit card. She told no one she was sending money because they really hooked her and made her feel like she was doing something amazing for her family. By the time we found out, it was too late. We tried to trace the Cashiers Checks, but they were cashed at Check Cashing Places in Florida with no true signature or account written on the back of the checks. Now my Mother Harriet has no money in savings and is being told she needs a whole new roof and if not done now, the damage that this winter rains can do, will cause so much more damage she will not be able to stay in her home. Plus she is being told because she cashed out her IRA, next year, she is going to have to pay taxes on the funds she pulled from her IRA. We have done what we can by filing with the Federal Trade Commission, filing with the FBI, meeting with the Local Police Department. Nothing has been done. Got called by a company that wanted us to pay the $10,000.00 and they would help us get back most of her money. She doesn't even have that kind of money to wish she could get that help.

We never though something like this could happen to our Mother. She is smart as a whip, keeps active, plays Mah Jong each week with her friends, loves to be in Plays in the Theaters, how could this happen to her! She just wanted to do something good for her family and they knew how to work it.

We don't know what to do now except ask for help!! Even if you cannot help, we appreciate you sharing this.

We don't want this to happen, as it is happening way too often, to anyone else. Please talk with your family, especially our senior family, make sure they know you are there to help, and NEVER SEND ANYONE MONEY!!
