<div>¡Hola! Soy Luciana Guadalupe Martínez Galaz, pero todos me dicen Lucy. Tengo 12 años, soy de Hermosillo, Sonora, México, y vivo con el <strong>síndrome de CHARGE</strong>.

<div>Mi vida ha sido un viaje lleno de desafíos desde que nací, pero también de mucha esperanza y lucha. <em>He pasado por más de 16 cirugías</em> debido a problemas como labio leporino, paladar hendido, parálisis facial e insuficiencia cardíaca. Cuando era bebé, sobreviví a tres infartos y muchas complicaciones, como el colapso de mis pulmones, riñones e hígado. A pesar de todo, me recuperé y, con mucho esfuerzo, ¡a los 5 años logré dar mis primeros pasos!

<div>Soy una niña que<em> </em><strong>ama la vida</strong>, las terapias en el CRIT Sonora y, sobre todo, el béisbol. Juego en un equipo de béisbol adaptado que me llena de alegría y energía.

<div>Sin embargo, todo cambió el 26 de septiembre de 2024, cuando comencé a tener convulsiones y desarrollé parálisis de Todd. Este tipo de parálisis me quita la fuerza en las manos y pies, dejándome sin poder caminar. Hace dos meses que no puedo dar un solo paso.

<div>Gracias a un voluntariado hospitalario, especialistas en Nogales, Arizona, evaluaron mi caso. Mi diagnóstico es <em>impresión basilar por luxación atloaxoidea con compresión bulbo-medular</em>, y necesito urgentemente una cirugía de <em>descompresión bulbo-medular, craneotomía occipital y laminectomía</em>. El costo de esta operación es de <strong>500,000 pesos mexicanos (24,000 dólares)</strong>.

<div>Mis papás y yo necesitamos tu ayuda para cubrir este gasto y también los costos de medicamentos, estudios médicos, traslados a Estados Unidos y consultas con especialistas.

<div>Hi! My name is Luciana Guadalupe Martínez Galaz, but everyone calls me Luc. I’m 12 years old, from Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, and I live with <strong>CHARGE syndrome</strong>.
</div>

<div>My life has been a journey full of challenges, but also filled with hope and resilience. Since birth, <em>I’ve undergone more than 16 surgeries</em> to address conditions like cleft lip and palate, facial paralysis, and heart failure. As a baby, I survived three heart attacks and complications that caused my lungs, kidneys, and liver to fail. Despite everything, I fought hard and, at 5 years old, I took my first steps!

<div>I’m a girl who<strong> loves life</strong>, my therapies at CRIT Sonora, and especially baseball. I’m proud to be part of an adapted baseball team that brings me so much joy and energy.
</div>

<div>However, my life changed on September 26, 2024, when I began experiencing seizures and developed <em>Todd’s Paralysis</em>. This condition takes away the strength in my hands and feet, leaving me unable to walk. It has now been two months since I’ve been able to take a step.
</div>

<div>Thanks to a hospital volunteer program, I was referred to specialists in Nogales, Arizona. They diagnosed me with <em>basilar impression due to atlantoaxial dislocation with bulbo-medullary compression</em>. I urgently need surgery for <em>bulbo-medullary decompression, occipital craniotomy, and laminectomy</em>. The cost of this operation is <strong>$24,000 USD (500,000 MXN).</strong>

<div>My parents and I need your help to cover this surgery and additional expenses like medications, medical studies, transportation to the U.S., and consultations with specialists.
