Nebraska Elite ~ AAU T&F Nationals
What a blessing! Several athletes on the Nebraska Elite Track team have qualified to compete in the 2017 AAU national track meet in Ypsilanti, Michigan. These 20 athletes have trained hard and have competed to the best of their ability so we would like to reward them by taking them to compete on the national level. They are competing in individual events (100 M, 200 M, 400 M, SP, Javelin, 200 Hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump) as well as on relay teams (4x1, 4x4 and 4x8).
The girls 4x1 and 4x4 competitors as well as a girls high jump competitor broke records when they competed in the AAU Regional track meet in Minnesota. Out of the 25 athletes we took to the AAU Regional track meet, most of them qualified to compete at the AAU national meet.
The youth that we plan to take came together just recently from various teams in Omaha and are very excited about the opportunity to compete together as some of Nebraska's best youth athletes. This is the first time we have combined athletes to compete at this level and it is very historic for track and field participants in Nebraska. A team of elite youth has never been brought together to represente the state and we are very excited for what they might achieve.
With that said, we need your help. It will be expensive to get the athletes to Michigan. We are asking for your donation to help offset the costs. We would like to get each athlete a plane ticket so they won't be exhausted and have to compete after a long car ride to Michigan. Other expenses include, SUV or van rentals, gas, food, hotel and the meet entries. As supporting parents and coaches, we are doing all that we can to help fulfill the dream for these athletes.
We appreciate any donation you can make and expect that the athletes will again compete to the best of their ability and make us all proud of them! We would like to have donations by this Friday, July 21, so we can start to plan immediately.
