Meet Nicki, the loving mother of Daniel and George and a devoted wife to Husband Nick. Nicki is our ray of sunshine in our family. She brigthens up a room with her smile and vibrant personality. She loves her family and friends and makes those around her feel loved and cherished.
In November 2016, Nicki started experiencing some back pain which she just assumed was from being a hair stylist throughout the years and standing on her feet for long hours of the day. After seeing a massage therapist and chiropractor, Nicki's symptoms did not go away and worsened over time, causing Nicki to see some medical attention. In early February 2017, Nicki was sadly given a diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer, which had already spread outside of the lung into her spine. She was given emergency spinal surgery and underwent Radiation and Chemotherapy but unfortunatley the treatments did not help Nicki's aggresive cancer. Currently, Nicki is now recieving Palliative Care in the comfort of her own home. It has been a blessing to have the amount of family and friends come to the house to express their concern and spend time with the family.
The emotional toll has been and contiunes to be extremely difficult and challenging, however, the financial toll has been just as crippling on the family. From the initial diagnosis, Nick has been a devoted husband and alongside Nicki every step of the way. He had to give up his job to be Nicki's primary care giver and he has been doing an exceptional job.
Lets try to ease some of the families financial burdens so they can focus on spending as much time with Nicki as they can and cherish those special moments while Nicki is still with us. Any size donation helps and is much appreciated.
