Nease High School Sports Wall
We are building a Wall! The Nease High School sports programs, specifically lacrosse and soccer, can use a "Wall" to enhance individual and team skills as well be a place of players of all ages and skill levels to work on their skills.
Nease High School is situated in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and serves Nocatee, World Golf Village and many of the surrounding communities. Their students excel both in the classroom and on the field! However, within Saint Johns County, athletic programs are responsible for providing for their own needs and facilities. This requires the dedication of the players, family, and community.
Over the past 5 years, the Nease Lacrosse Programs have requested to build a Wall to help the student-athletes continue to compete at a high level across the state. The Nease boys program is a two time Florida High School Athletic Association Final Four team and both boys and girls programs have sent players to compete at the next level (D1, D2, D3, and MCLA Club) while continuing to excel in the classroom and in their respective communities.
Wall ball is recognized as a sure fire way to improve a player's stick skills on their own time so that they can become a better lacrosse player and a better teammate. The time spent "at the wall" can help individuals improve their shooting, passing & catching. It allows for the individual to get in tons of repetitions (#reps). They can work at the wall year-round.
In addition to individual work, the wall will help coaches during team practices in that players will be able to get in early warm-ups so they are ready to go at the start of practice and have more efficient and effective time on the field. It will also serve as a place where individuals can get in extra repetitions after practice if they need time to improve without taking away from team practice time.
Finally, the wall can be bring a greater sense of community with the sports programs as individuals can gather and get work in as an individual or with a group of players. Players of all skill levels build fond memories working on their weak-hand passes and shots, behind the back passes, shovel passes, and anything else they can imagine. The players will come to use the wall as a place to gather and work together so they can transition those skills on the field!
For those who donate $250 or greater, they will be able to add their name to the wall as a "Nease Legacy" and be listed on the Nease Lacrosse website!
The funds raised through this fundraiser will go directly to building the Wall. Any additional funds will be distributed to the lacrosse program to assist with their season activities!
