Neal Follman's Legal Fund

Philadelphia public school teacher Neal Follman was placed on unpaid leave by the Board of Education when he refused to sign the consent form for in-school COVID testing. He offered to get tested by his own doctor and submit the results to his employer but they refused to accept this very reasonable compromise.

Follman is in his third round of disciplinary hearings and is on track to be illegally fired from his job. He needs your help as he plans to fight for his rights - and everyone’s rights - in Philly and Pennsylvania, to maintain the ability to choose who he does and does not accept medical treatments from.

Currently, Follman has a lawyer representing him but he will lose that attorney if he can’t fundraise enough money to retain his representation. As a teacher for over 12 years I have seen a lot, but the new protocols being put in place are by far the most threatening to students' and teachers' health and safety. Our students are hurting, but rather than devoting our time and resources to healing and wellness, the district has invested huge sums of money into inaccurate tests and online platforms that will store and share student mental health data. I could not comply with a system that will bring even greater challenges and disruptions to my students' lives. I will be taking the district to court in order to try and prevent these further usurpations to student and faculty rights. I would be grateful to anyone that is willing to offer their support in this endeavor.
