Clara is a full of life little 3yr old. Anyone who has met Clara has fallen in love with this little girl. She has a smile to light up a room , a laugh that brings out your own smile and the spunk of a teenager.
She has a loving 10 yr old brother who adores his little sister.
Clara's mom Karin is a strong single mother who has raised beautiful , respectful and kind children.
She herself works at the elementary school as a medical educational assistant and the kids she works with adore her. She is kind, respectful and takes care of them like they were her own.
Sweet Clara was diagnosed Sept 22, 2014 with acute lymphoblastic leukemia...... just a month before her 3rd birthday,and she has a long road ahead of her. She will be having chemo, lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies and bloodwork for the next 2+ years.
While Clara is going through all of this, her mom cannot work. Due to Clara's lack of immunities from chemo, her oncology team has told Karin that she can't go to daycare until she is finished treatment, because a cold or the flu could be deadly for her. She has nothing in her little body to fight it.
Looking after Clara, all of the trips back and forth to Saskatoon ( which is 2 hours away) the hours in the cancer clinic and all of the nights spent there is exhausting and extremely stressful . Then she also has to arrange for care for her 10 year old at home so that he can go to school.
It is also expensive, and she doesn't have an income until Clara is well again, which is why I have started this for them. Anything, no matter how small will help ease her financial burden and stress, and will be deeply appreciated.
