Veterans Earl & Peg need our help!

Donation protected
Earl & Peggy (Latimer) Aldrich need help from their Facebook friends, and friends of their friends.  Peggy does not know this - but she was the first person to speak to me when I went to a new school in the middle of 7th grade (I was terrified!) - She is without a doubt one of the sweetest and kindest people I have ever met - and would (and does) go out of her way to help anyone she can.  She & Earl have never asked for help - but I am asking for them now.  If everyone who reads this gives just a little they can reach their goal.  Please read their story - and let's get Peg & Earl to Florida!  Thanks - and please share!

Earl Aldrich served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed on the USS Higbee in Vietnam and the USS Sarsfield in Europe.  Peggy served in the U.S. Army.  They have been married 37 years.

Fourteen years ago, Earl was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer) and eventually had both kidneys removed.  While being treated he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, caused by his exposure to Agent Orange while serving his country.  Last summer he had a heart attack, and has congestive heart failure.  Earl is on dialysis three days a week and will be for the rest of his life.  His doctors are treating him to slow the growth of the prostate tumor.

Earl & Peggy moved from their home in Florida to Tennessee a few years ago to be close to the V.A. Hospital in Nashville.  They were financially devastated, as Peggy had to leave her teaching career to give Earl the care he required.

In everything that has happened over the years, Peg and Earl have tried to remain faithful to their Lord, to serve Him in as many ways as they can, and to depend upon His promises to care for them and to provide for their needs.  Proverbs 3:5-6 is their guide:  Trust in the Lord with all thy heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways, acknowledge HIM, and He will direct thy paths.

Now it's time to move back home, to Central Florida, to be with their grandchildren and their church family.  Peggy has relatives close by, and they have many long-time friends in the area.  These people know and love them will help Peggy take care of Earl.  A V.A. Hospital is opening soon in Orlando, which is another reason they would like to go back home.

Earl’s wish is that Peggy will be where she needs to be when he leaves this world; all he is hoping for is a nice used mobile home with no mortgage for her to worry about for the future.

Thank you, in advance, for any help you can give Earl & Peggy.  They appreciate your help more than you can possibly know.
