Barbara Pereira Recovery Fund

Barbara Pereira is currently being treated at Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Center after suffering a massive heart attack that has left her on a respirator fighting for life.
I am setting up this fund in the hopes of raising money to assist the Pereira family with the expenses that are acruing as part of Barbara's ongoing journey to healing.
In her 47 years Barbara has gone out of her way to offer help to anyone who needed it. Her heart and her helping hand was always open to everyone. Now it is our chance to return that help.
Who is Barbara?
Barbara and Scott Pereira were married 27 years ago. They are the proud parents of Brandon (22), Jake (18), and Shawn (16). Barbara has dedicated her whole life to these four very special men.
Recently she could often be heard talking with great pride about Brandon's commitment to the US Army Reserves; Jake's recent scholarship acceptance to college; and Shawn's upcoming Confirmation.
When Barbara is not dedicating her time to her family she is dedicating herself to others. She is a middle school Religious Education teacher. She sat on the board of her son's Hockey League. She is also a lector at her local Church. She volunteered her time as the Chairman of the local Youth Group Committee as well as a worker at the local Church Craft Fair.
She is the loving daughter and devoted sister to a large family located throughout New England and Canada. Her family, her faith, and her career mean the world to her.
Her life, however, changed on January 24. Barbara suffered a massive heart attack and a cardiac arrhythmia. She has never regained conciousness. We know Barbara has suffered brain damage and is relying on a respirator to breathe.
But, she is fighting hard. There is no real timeline for Barbara. The goal over the coming months is to get her off the respirator and begin figuring out what neurological rehabilitiation is needed.
Her husband and children are by her side every day, cheering her on. This will be a long journey for them and anything we can do to alleviate any burden on them so they can stay focused on the health and healing of Barbara, I am sure, would be a big help.
