Hi, I'm Brittany. I'm Bonnie's friend and manager at work. She is the most amazing woman. She would do anything for anyone. She needs our help right now with covering medical expenses and monthly bills.
Bonnie suffered a stroke on Monday 2/24. The latest update from her son Ethan, It affected both sides of her brain. Her legs are clot free and her heart looks clear, so no clots to be found! She still doesn't have much use of her right leg and arm, and she still can't swallow or talk. She does have an alphabet board and a dry erase board to help her communicate.
She had surgery today, to remove the nose tube she had to give her liquid medicine and they put in a pec tube or a feeding tube into her stomach as the nose tube was uncomfortable and causing irritation. It looks like after 48 hours of the pec tube being in, they will hopefully move her to the rehab area and start her rehab.
Please share and donate if you can!!!
Update: 3/4
So as you may or may not have heard, Bonnie has taken a turn for the worse. She has an intestinal infection she's battling, and she has lost the use of all of her arms and legs, however she is able to move her left foot. They did discover she had suffered a minor stroke a while back, not sure when but sometime within the last 6 months I think. They neurologist said in his opinion, she very likely will never walk, talk, use her arms, or swallow again. That she would be tube fed and a quadriplegic for the rest of her life.
She has been given two options. 1- she can go to rehab and see if she ever gains anything back, or 2- she can enter hospice for end of life care. She has decided to fight and go to rehab. My dad and I are meeting with her doctor tomorrow with her to discuss things.
